Real deal: Besides great shopping and dining, just outside Hokulani Waikiki’s front door, are FREE weekly entertainment and cultural programs. Hawaiian music and hula are presented each Tuesday, 4:30 pm - 6 pm, at the outdoor Plaza Stage. Every third Sunday of the month, Na Mele No Na Pua Sunday Showcase happens 5 pm - 6 pm at the Plaza Stage, featuring the island’s finest musicians such as steel guitarists, slack key artists and hula halau. Each Wednesday at 4 pm, the Shiatsu & Massage Center presents a free yoga class on the lawn area.

Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. Three blocks of fabulous shopping, dining and entertainment in the heart of Waikiki. From Fendi to Forever 21, more than 100 shops, restaurants and night spots to keep you enchanted from morning to night. Once I enter this wondrous realm of delights, I never want to leave. Hawaiian cultural programs are especially commendable.

Real deal: Complimentary Hawaiian activities are held Monday - Friday, 10 am or 11 am, including lei making, quilting, hula and ukulele playing. Lomilomi Hawaiian massage is offered each Monday and Wednesday at 11 am. Daily live Hawaiian entertainment, 6 pm - 7 pm, in the Royal Grove. Catch the Royal Hawaiian Band on each first and third Thursday, 1 pm, in the Royal Grove. Whee, all of this is FREE!

At Modern Masters, featured artists and mixed media are displayed in each of the boutique shops for a rare look at exquisite works of art.
